Whistler BC

Evertime I woke up at Janet’s I would come out of my room, and there was Jazz! She was like….”you are in my room!!!” lol.

Happy Mother’s Day!!!
Us Mom’s made some yummy french toast for breakfast. I was happy to see that Janet had a Pampered Chef Grill which made it easy to make them all at once!

Yay!! I get to go to Whistler British Columbia again. I came the first time 6 years ago, and it is such a great place nestled in the mountains of BC. Bart has never been, so I am excited that he can enjoy the drive there on the Sea to Sky highway, and go up to the top of the mountain to enjoy the view! Thank you to Hank for driving so that the rest of us could just enjoy the views!

It is always difficult to capture the beauty you see out the window of the car….but on the Sea to Sky drive…..we saw beauty after beauty after beauty!!! so incredible.

It was so nice that Janet let us use her car to go to Whitler for 2 days. On the way we made a few stops. We stopped at Shannon Falls park. It is quite a spectacular falls coming off the mountain. I have been here a few times before, but I think this time there was the most water flowing over then ever before. There were also rock climbers up on the edge – crazy!

Shannon Falls is 335 meters and the 3rd highest falls in British Columbia! (Niagara Falls is only 57 meters so it gives you the idea of the magnitude of these falls!)
We hiked up and up to get to a point where we got even closer the Falls!

We also stopped at the Watershed Grill. For any of you that watch Netflix Series Virgin River, you will recognize it as Jack’s Bar. This is in Brackendale near Squamish and it is the Eagle capital of the World! If you dine at the Watershed Grill, which is on the dyke, you can see the eagles up close while they dine.

This is the view if you are sitting on the patio of the Watershed Grill!

We rented an AirBnB right in the Village of Whistler. We have a really nice 2-bedroom condo, with community pool and hottub right outside our room, and we are walking distance to everything we need – mountain, shops, restaurants, groceries, liqour, coffee shops, bars, etc.

We had a nice stroll through the village. So many memories from the 2010 Vancouver Olympics!!!

Their are so many restaurants in Whistler to choose for dinner. We googled and looked at reviews….and decided to go to 21 Steps Kitchen and Bar for dinner. Yummy!! Since we are here at the in-between seasons, they have some great Spring Specials at the restuarants – many of them are offering are 3 or 4 course meals for about 40 to 44 dollars per person (with some up charges).

Cheers! We had a great view overlooking the village!

We strolled through Whistler Village after dinner….and then strolled back to our condo.

Hank, Debbie and I went in the hot tub…..and then I was done!!! lol.

Cheers to a great day in Whistler! Looking forward to another fun-packed day tomorrow.
