Rain was coming and so we decided to pack up early. We packed up wet but didn’t have to pack in the pouring rain which was good. Our tent was just wet from during the night. We are sad to leave a beautiful area, as there is always more that we can find to do here. Next time!! Today we are going to travel and area we have never been to before. We are excited to drive through the Annapolis Valley and then to Digby, the scallop capital of the World! Since it was morning we couldn’t stop at any of the wineries in the Annapolis Valley which was our plan – we heard there is about 12 of them but unfortunately they don’t open until afternoon.

We stopped at Cottage Cove Provincial Park (the blue dot is where we are) and what a great view we have. We stopped to have a picnic and watch the tide go out.

What is Sonya looking at? As the rocks got exposed we started to see bobbing heads all around, and how cool we got to watch the seals playing and getting up on the rocks to sun themselves.

We then stopped in Hampton. It was low tide and it was so stinky (dead fish smell) when we got out of the truck. But the view was gorgeous!! There was a beautiful beach here. Also there was a lighthouse that was open and had a young local man who provided information on the history.

We climbed up to the top of the lighthouse (so hot!!) and then had to get down – which was a bit challenging for me (with not much to hold on to), but I did it. It was a great view from the top.

We arrive at Digby Camping Park. It is a RV park so the sites are very close together. We ended up getting one at the end of the lane which had a little more room, and does have a nice view of the end of the Bay where the tide comes in and out.

Our clam tent has worked so well for this trip! We bought this years ago for a dining tent when we go local camping with our trailer. For this trip we bought the floor for the clam (it velcros in) and you can turn it into a sleeping tent. It is like we have our own yurt and we have a ton of room in it. We bought 2 cots and we sleep like babies each night! The best thing is that we do not have to pull our trailer, which means we can share the driving (I hate pulling the trailer) and it also means we can take smaller back roads, and go through the mountains, and stop and see things that we wouldn’t be able to if we had the trailer with us. And way less set up time – this clam pops up in less than 5 minutes!

The campground recommended a few restaurants in Digby. We went to Fundy Restaurant and loved the view and the food. It was an excellent choice!

Red sky at night is a sailor’s delight! The temperature difference going from Graves Island (on the open ocean) and Digby (on Bay of Fundy) was 12 degrees. We went from cool to hot!! We had another great day and ended it enjoying the sunset from our campsite.
