We left Julie and Jeff’s by 9 a.m. and we have a 5 hour drive today. We had a great sleep in a comfy bed and are excited to see what we will see today! It is not sunny but it is also not raining. The temperature is 20 degrees.

We stopped in Moncton for a pee/gas/coffee break, and realized we were right by the famous New Brunswick Magnetic Hill, so we went and did it. Wow!! You put your car in neutral at the bottom of the hill and then you come up the hill backwards. Pretty cool. We also have one near Hamilton – King Road in Waterdown. They should make it a tourist spot and charge money to do like this one. Every car paid $7. fyi – if you go after hours, you can just do it without paying. We missed the winery by 20 minutes and couldn’t wait…..so we will have to come back one day.

We stopped at Shediac at the biggest lobster. I had a lobster roll. I saw my friend Bob had one yesterday, and so I wanted one too. Not cheap ($20), but it was yummy! Figures we arrive at the big lobster when there is a school trip going on and there was no way of getting a pic with no one crawling all over it. What is lobster roll ?– large chunks of lobster, mayonnaise, and celery, stuffed into a grilled hot dog bun.

We took some typical tourist pics. I love all the bright colors of the buildings in parts of the East Coast.

Our friend John moved to PEI 5 years ago. His father was born in this house. He has been fixing it up as their cottage. They are across from the ocean and have property right out to the coast. We are so thankful to be his guests for a few days while we are on the island. Are we in the middle of nowhere? Kind of but that is what makes this so beautiful!! I wanted to be with the local community people! The cottage is in Bayfield, PEI. The nearest town is Souris.

The East Point is the most eastern point of PEI. It is where the water converges, from the ocean into the North Thumberland Strait and you can see it – kind of cool. I had never heard of this before but this is what our friends Bob and Tracy explained to us. I will have to google it sometime to check it out. They had lovely muskoka chairs there all donated by local businesses. When we got there, there was so many foxes there – they were nibbling on pieces of lobster. No fair – they get lobster and I had none!

After dinner, John came by to hang out with us. It was so great hearing his stories of this area, the stories of lobster and mussel fishing/trapping. Very interesting. He told us some good places to go visit over the next couple days that we are here. Dang! – I forgot to take a pic of him with his buddie Bart. I will have to make sure to get one tomorrow!
