Strasbourg France and Kehl Germany – April 18th.

We had an even earlier start today. 8:15 am. But the 6 of us all made it on the bus…and on time!! We drove across the bridge from Germany into France. And then to Strasbourg France. The history of Strasbourg was interesting – it went from being German to France again and again.

Back on the bus and in the back!!
Strasbourg. There are many government buildings as the European Union and the council is here.
They had a few carrousels in Strasbourg.
Strasbourg Notre- Dame cathedral is an outstanding masterpiece of Gothic art. The construction of the Romanesque cathedral, of which only the crypt and the footprint remain, began in 1015. The spire of the current building, in a gothic style, was completed in 1439.
Gorgeous!
The cathedral is a worlds unesco site.
The rose window was finished in 1345 and is 14 meters in diameter.
The Strasbourg astronomical clock is located in the Cathédrale Notre-Dameof Strasbourg, Alsace, France. It is the third clock on that spot and dates from the time of the first French possession of the city (1681–1870). The first clock had been built in the 14th century, the second in the 16th century, when Strasbourg was a Free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire.
We went to Le Gruber a local restaurant where we had Flamkukken! And lekker beer!

We took a bus back from France and then walked into Kehl Germany. Within the first block of walking we walked past 10 cigarette and bong shops and 2 street cigarette machines. ???

We then asked a local about it. Germany has cheap cigarettes and they come from France across the border to buy cigarettes.

A hunk e Moeller! We found Bob’s store. A lingerie and bra store. Lol.
