Basel Day 2 – April 16th

We all had a great sleep last night, from 8 1/2 to over 10 hours. We are all refreshed and ready to go! Today is the day we get on our riverboat!

Our apartment in Basel
Steve and Andrea went out to get coffees. There was not a lot open on a Sunday morning, but they found a small cafe. Switzerland is expensive. The small coffee was 4.10 francs. A Franc = about 1.75 Canadian so each coffee was about 7.20 Canadian (what we do for caffeine!). But it sure was good coffee! We decided not to have breakfast and just head to the boat since they would feed us there.
The boys. The apartment windows were original and quite neat how they opened up. I think our building was dated 1710, but if I am wrong Bart will correct me, since he is always paying attention to dates. So yes he did – the date was 1436. I was just a few hundred years off.
We climbed the steeple of Munster Church. What an incredible view from the top.
At the top of the steeple!

Looking down the stairs from the top.
We climbed about 250 stairs to get to the top. It was tricky at times but we all did it!!
Tracy used the last of our francs and got a deal on 2 hot chocolates. It should have been 8 euros but all she had was 7 and they took it. You would have thought she won the lottery she was so excited. Lol.
This is our home on the water for the next week. Yay!

It has been difficult to post on the boat since the service isn’t always so great but I will try to share a few pics each day.
