I now know what is next. We booked a trip for next April!! Yay!
We are travelling with our friends Bob and Tracy and we are so excited to share Netherlands with them! Bob finally gets to go to the “monkey bar!” in Amsterdam. Lol. He always talks about wanting to go to the monkey bar in Netherlands, so finally he will get to go! But our first stop as always is to Wynand Fokink!
We are going on a Rhine cruise from Switzerland to Amsterdam and then another week in the Netherlands. I did this cruise the other way around – Amsterdam to Switzerland – about 8 years ago with 5 sisters. At the time I knew Bart was missing out, as he would love it! I am so glad that I get to do it again and can share it with him this time. A lot of this trip is spent in Germany. The Rhine is such a gorgeous river with the most amazing views.
When we arrive in Amsterdam we will spend 2 or 3 nights there. I can’t wait to share this fabulous city with our friends!
Then…..the plan is to cycle for 3 to 4 days. This is still in the planning stages but I think if we can make it work we will cycle from Keukenhof Gardens and cycle to Rotterdam. We will cycle through tulip fields and along the sea. And YAY we will be there for King’s Day – April 27th! Bart’s cousin told us that the King and his family will be celebrating in Rotterdam this year. And I think we will be there!!!! Woo hoo!!

I would love to hear from you if you have suggestions and ideas of where we should go on a cycle trip between Amsterdam and Rotterdam, since we have not confirmed any plans yet. Thanks!
When in Rotterdam we are thinking of staying on the S.S. Rotterdam Bart’s cousin said that Bart’s Pake and Beppe (grandfather and grandmother) from his Mom’s side sailed from Netherlands to Canada on this ship when they came to Canada. The ship is now a hotel and a restaurant.
So…..any ideas or thoughts about what our cycle trip should be, where we should go, etc. please reach out to us…….since we are in the planning stages, any help with thoughts or suggestions would be great.
I have something to look forward to in the Spring!
